AIxBlock is collecting English voice recordings for an AI research project. We are looking for 14 native or fluent English speakers based in the United States to record short English sentences using our mobile recording app.

Important: Participants must be located in the USA, excluding Illinois, Texas, Washington, and Colorado.

This is a one-time remote task. Each participant will record around 300 short utterances, with a total recording time of approximately 50–60 minutes.

Pay: $60 flat fee per approved participant

Important Note Before You Apply

This is a KYC-required project. We need to verify that each participant is a real person and that their profile information matches a valid government-issued ID.

What You’ll Do

You will use our recording app on your smartphone to:

• Read around 300 short sentences displayed on screen
• Record each sentence one by one
• Speak clearly and naturally in a quiet environment
• Complete the full session in approximately 50–60 minutes

Each sentence usually takes around 3–7 seconds to read.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Must not be located in Illinois, Texas, Washington, or Colorado
• Native or fluent English speaker
• Own a smartphone
• Have access to a quiet room with no background noise
• Stable internet connection
• Clear and natural speaking voice
• Able to follow recording instructions carefully

Recording Guidelines

Full instructions will be provided before you start. Key requirements include:

• Record in a quiet room with no background music, fan, AC noise, echo, or other noise
• Hold your phone around 5–10 cm from your mouth
• Read each sentence exactly as shown on screen
• Speak naturally, not too fast or too slowly
• Record each sentence once
• Keep start/end silence under 0.5 seconds
• Minor word slips are acceptable only if the sentence is still clear and within the required time frame

Voice Profiles We’re Looking For

We are recruiting only 14 participants in the USA, with a mix of:

• Male and female voices, ideally a roughly equal split
• American English accents, including General American, Southern, East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast accents
• 2–3 participants with fluent non-native English accents, such as Indian, Hispanic, East Asian, or similar accents
